Winspit Cottage: the home of William Jeremiah Bower (1886 – 1966) known as ‘Billy Winspit’, the last man to work in Winspit Quarry. St Nicholas of Myra church c1100: grave of Benjamin Jesty, who in 1774 introduced the Cow Pox by Innoculation for the first time. Also that of the sculptor Mary Spencer Watson. |
